Layering

Just a quick outfit for today: Free People crop top layered over a lace tank I got from TJ Maxx with BDG jeans and a necklace I scored at a yard sale a few years ago.

Deals.

Alright, I realize that these photos are really bad (phone) quality, but this is about the closest thing I'll be doing to a personal post for now. My Macy's doesn't carry a lot of my favorite brands, so usually when brands that my location doesn't carry are returned to that store, they put them all together. Lucky for me, I found the jackpot the other day.

This beautiful Free People top has panels of lace and crochet, and beading detail. It was originally $70, I got it for $34.

This Intimately FP bodycon dress was originally $68, got it for $15!

Material Girl by Madonna bodycon dress, originally $14, got it for $7.50

And the drumroll...a gorgeous FP jacket originally $128, I got it for $15! Yes, it's quite large on me (for a medium?) but with all the cash I saved I can certainly afford to get it taken in.

Cheers,
Meliss

Love what you see in the TriMirror.

Have you ever had one of those days where you’re just unsure of every outfit you put on? Do you ever walk into a store to find the cutest item only to be iffy about buying it without that second opinion? Or have you ever had that moment where you buy the most fabulous outfit and you just want to share it with the world?

Well now you can, well, with the TriMirror world you can! This website allows us to upload photos of our fashion ideas, outfits, and recent buys/findings to share with people who can give us the “okay” or the “oh no!” We all have those friends who tell us we look good in everything when in reality we know “those” pants just don’t suit our body type or “those” shoes do not do our legs justice. With TriMirror fashion we can get those blunt opinions needed to find the perfect outfit for the day. When you know you look totally rocking, let people see it and receive feedback for your crafty work. You can also look at other posts to get ideas from other outfits and maybe you’ll give others awesome ideas for their next outfit!

Got yourself a smartphone? Awesome! Because TriMirror has an app downloadable for blackberry, iphone, and android. It’s perfect for on the go.
Don’t have a smartphone? That’s okay because you can still enjoy TriMirror on your pc or mac.

Black&Yellow? How about Black&White.

There's just something about black and white that always catches my attention. Whether it's due to the timeless color scheme or the undying classy look that it achieves, I always find myself drooling over this quintessential combo. All of these wonderful picks come from the boutique Planet Blue.

This gorgeous dress takes a cool aztec print and pairs it with stripes! Mixing prints is one of my favorite things to do, lately, and this dress does it in a nicely subtle way. Not surprisingly, it is currently sold out, but here's to hoping that it'll come back in stock!

You can never go wrong with stripes, and this dress throws the classic stripe for a spin. I just love the way the stripes meet at different angles in the front and create a rouched-up look. This is definitely a unique piece that you won't be finding in any Forever 21 this season.

This gorgeous button down is another item that has me kicking myself when seeing that it is, indeed, sold out as well! Its deep v-neck front balances out the rest of the masculine shape and hat that they paired it with. I love the accessibility of this top, it's something that you can wear exactly like how the model did for a casual day, paired with heels and a statement necklace for a night out, or with slacks and a black blazer for work.

Hallelu Boutique

Hallelu Boutique is one of my favorite online boutiques. Their store is located in North Carolina, but thankfully they have an online store available. Their styling just oozes effortless chic and their pieces are unlike any others. Not only do they have clothing on their website, but they also carry accessories, some of their best deals in my opinion. And best of all, they're not too expensive! I strongly urge you to check out both their website and facebook page, which they update almost daily with new items.

Wolf Spotting.

Last Friday Meg and I went to see The Starting Line for their Holiday Show which was one of the only two shows they had planned for 2010 (it was originally scheduled for 12/26 but due to the blizzard was rescheduled). While we were watching one of the opening bands, Hit the Lights, Meg pointed out the bassist's t-shirt sported a wolf and I immediately proceeded to take a picture to share.

Not the best photo but you get the idea. Now I know some of you may be thinking, that's cool.. and it relates to your blog title.. but what's the point? Well I find it both mind boggling and funny that our generation has since become obsessed with the idea of wolves (mostly due to The Hangover) where we've started wearing clothing of wolves, considering our friends our wolfpack, and even naming this little old blog after it!

We were going to take outfit photos (with Burger King crowns, nonetheless) but since it was so cold out we ended up not being able to. However, I assure you they were quite dazzling.

Here's a picture I took of Kenny from The Starting Line. More can be found in a set on my flickr.

EDIT: Here's a perfect example of the adorable blogger Becky-May wearing a wolf t-shirt! Adore the way she styled it!

Chasing Wolves by Harper Smith

These photos were taken by Harper Smith for the winter issue of Factory Magzine. Of course when I saw the title it instantly appealed to me but that was not the only thing that drew my attention. The vintage look and brilliant nature setting are very eye catching. Bonus points for the crushed velvet dress seen in the bottom photo (you know how much we love the velvet look from a post made earlier by our lovely Melissa). The outfits are plain amazing and I absolutely love all the black, of course I mean that in the cheeriest way!

Photo credit and the rest of the editorial can be found here.

Enjoy, Meg

I know this is belated...

I realize that this is (a little) belated, but here are some of the gifts that were passed around this Christmas. The Chanel nailpolish was a gift for Meg from me (Meliss), the book was a gift from Laur to me (love it, by the way), and the Mac pigment was a gift from Meg to all of us (we each got a different color, I got Neo-Orange). If you've never heard of pigment before, apparently it's the coloring that goes into all makeup, so you can put it into clear nail polish, lipgloss, and even use it as eyeshadow and blush - depending on what color you get. I haven't used mine yet but I have a feeling I'll be trying it out today...
